Came in a little to fast to the berth and with only one engine the bow did kiss the pontoon but with only a slight scratch which i repaired.
Checked in and hired a car for latter in the day.
Contacted a local mechanic about the engine starting problem and he put me onto a local auto electrician called Chris. Chris arrived an hour latter and quickly diagnosed the problem as a corroded wire on the slave relay activated by the start button. Easily fixed and another thing l have learnt about the engines.
Phone southern marine to ask about the water quality coming from the desalinator. Micheal suggested having the salinity level checked by their local distributor Boat Power. Sends Dad and Kops over with a sample and it was 440 parts per million which is the expected level. He suggested changing the pre filter which I did.
Rose and Josh did the washing of the smelly fishing clothes.
Dropped off one of the lounge covers which had a little tear to be fixed by an upholsterer and then went to Bunnings to get some rivets and conduit to help with shade awning. Dad forgot to get the Esky to take home the fish fillets.
Had dinner at the marina Thai restaurant which was ok but the service was lacking.
Day 34 Friday 6/5/16
Wind SE 15 Sea SE 1m
Went up the mast and installed 3 new rivets in the radar strut which will hopefully be the end of that problem.
Gave the boat a good wash down with the pressure cleaner. Picked up the upholstery and then went to Bunnings to get an Esky.
Rose and Josh washed bedding and did a final clean up.
Kops and I greater Angela and Jan at the airport. It was great to see Angela.
Had a drink on the boat before loading up the car again to take Dad, Rose and Josh back to the airport for their flight back home.
Angela and I did a grocery shop on the way back to the boat.
After drinks on the back deck we had dinner at the marina Italian restaurant which was excellent. Sent Tanya a few pics by SMS.
