Sail to Benicia via Emory cove

Scott/sunny and warm
Ruby and I finished our first solo overnight on Chaika! We left SF 6:30 Thurs eve and sail/motored across the bay past Treasure Island into Emory Cove. It was a great sail. We met Lisai (Sailtime base owner),Chuck, Capt Chris and Kim for an awesome evening of dinner and drinks at Trader Vics (high marks!). We spent the night in flat calm and woke up to blue clear skies. We set out about 9:30 from the marina and sailed for about an hour until it was dead calm at the Richmond bridge. We motor sailed the next 3:45 in glass seas but w/current we made 7-9 knots! Arrived in Benicia to swarm artsy town easy 3 blocks from marina. Spent the evening bar/food hopping in short and flipflops! We woke up to low low tide so we had to wait until 10:45 to leave. Since the wind was on the nose we motored until we hit SF bay. Then 25 knots steady to pier 39

Scott
We spent early evening sailing in 20knot winds on Chaika 36' Hunter with our friend Kreg visiting from DC. This was his first time on a sail boat. We put him at the helm to enjoy a 6 knot beam reach sail past the Giants ballpark. I think he likey!
