Cruising Active Transport
We left San Francisco on September 7th 2008 and are off to see the world in our Tayana 37 Pilot House cutter.
Profile for Cruising Active Transport

Captain: John and Shawn
Hailing Port: San Francisco, California
The Crew: John and Shawn are preparing at 2003 Tayana 37 pilot house cutter for extended cruising in the south Pacific and beyond. Our expected departure date in September 08 at which point we plan a leisurely cruise down the coast of California to shake down the new equipment before leaving San Diego around November 1. John has been sailing since he was about 8 years old. He grew up in Miami and sailed the Bahamas and West Indies as a kid. AFter moving to the west coast he bought a NorSea 27 and sailed it for over 10 years including the 1994 single handed transpac, brief cruises in the Sea of Cortez, the pacific northwest, and the Chesapeake. Shawn started sailing about 4 years ago and has lots of San Francisco bay sailing experience and offshore experience along the coast of California. The boat was built in 2003 to John's specs and is configured for offshore work with a crew of two.
