This screen shot (with my camera) of our navigation software shows the route we were on bound for Santa Cruz Island (lower left) when we crossed the equator as we closed with the Galapagos.

John got to play the role of king Neptune complete with crown and trident (made from our boat hook an aluminum foil.  He is suitably dressed in a Greatful Dead tee shirt
Im not sure what the theme of Shawns hat was.  Maybe it was the only other kind of hat he knew how to make out of foil.
Of   our trusty mascot Ganesh had to participate in the celebrations too.  It turned out that a shrimp fork made a perfect trident for him.   Anyone looking at this might wonder how ritzy we are with shrimp forks.  Actually neither of us knows where it came from.  We only have one shrimp fork on board and this was the only time we have used it.
