Time to Leave La Paz

We are leaving La Paz and heading north. We have had a wonderful time here. If you ever get a chance to come to La Paz, do it. We went to the pool for the last time today. Here is a picture of what we look at every afternoon.

Sitting at the beach
03/30/2013, Playa Tecolote

We are sitting at a beach that is north of La Paz. It is a beautiful place, with cool breezes and a beautiful sandy beach. We spent an afternoon here and then went back to the boat to say goodbye to our friends. We leave La Paz this week and head up to the islands.

You guys look like regular beach bums! I (Steve) just finished getting caught up on your blog. Sounds like a whole lot of adventure going on. Glad you are enjoying yourselves and the adventure, too! The fresh tuna looked so nice.
Walking on the beach
03/30/2013, Playa Tecolote

Since Andy and Nancy have a car, we were able to drive to two beaches. We stopped at Puerto Balandra first and could see the mushroom rock then we went on to Playa Tecolote and set in the shade while Lane walked the beach for a bit. It was a nice day and a nice place to spend with friends.

Visit from Friends
03/25/2013, La Paz

We are having a great time with our friends from Ensenada, Nancy and Andy. We have been shopping, eating and swimming, but most of all talking. We looked for over 2 hours for a road out to this condo empire on El Mogote only to find out you need to take a ponga from town and just ride across the bay. We found a little house for Andy to buy...took us two hours to find it and 15 minutes to get back. We have seen alot of La Paz that we can't see on foot. It has been fun. We ate at our favorite restaraunt, El Tamarinda for the last time and reprovisioned at the Maga. We are getting ready to head out to the islands. I'm going to miss Costa Baja, especially the pool.

At the pool
03/21/2013, Costa Baja Marina

On really hot afternoons, we spend our time at the pool. The cool breeze from the sea makes for nice temperature. It is absolutely beautiful at this resort.

It has been hot here for the last several weeks. I made the big tarp before we left Edmonds. The other two tarps were made while in Mexico. The tarps help keep the temperature down in the boat, but it still gets hot. To cool off, we go to the pool in the afternoon..
