Norfolk Mermaid
We had a pretty peaceful night all things considered. When the rain began, Ken went up on deck to close everything up but by then it had cooled to a level where we weren’t uncomfortable. The thunderstorms were few and distant so not as alarming to me as close lightning strikes. The rain was only intermittent but the gusts were not boat-rocking.
I was happy to rise at the usual time to only light rain and reasonable gusts. The worst of the storm saturated the enclosure and dripped into the cockpit making staying outside impossible. The storm surge had been imperceptible. We hear sirens from the city indicating there must be some on land repercussions of the passing storm but here in the marina we never lost WiFi, power or saw any boat-threatening activity. The wind continued to gust throughout the morning (as predicted by Intellicast…lol!) but we were safe, dry and happy that they worst had passed.
The sun is shining as I post this at 10:30 am.
Sorry, no storm photos...but you can see Allure over the backside of the mermaid.
Thank you to all who kept us in your thoughts and prayers during the storm.
