Heading South
22 February 2015 | Isla Coronados
Dennis
Left Conception Bay on Thursday and sailed South along inside coast of Baja. Stopped to anchor off of Punta Pulpito for a night, then on to our current location by isla Coronados. The island is an old volcano just North of Loreto. I hiked up to the top of the volcano mount with Roger of sailboat Tradwind Seeker yesterday for some great views (and a good sweat). The island is part of Mexico's park system and has a few nice maintained trails (although the route up the volcano mount was just a marked track). Sharing anchorage with Tradewind Seeker, Inncredible Sea Lodge (who showed up yesterday afternoon) and Pegasus (who left yesterday). We will likely hang here today, go over to Loreto tomorrow for some sight seeing, and then find a good cove to hide in as it is forecast to be very windy come Tuesday. Will continue heading South after that.
