There is one way to explain how we are feeling right now...EXHAUSTED! after months of anticipation we arrived in Venice a few hours ago and yet are content to be lying in a tiny attic out of our own free will! The magic of Venice almost gave us a new breath of life and for a fleeting moment we toyed with the idea of heading straight out to explore. BUT after traipsing up and down bridges, in and out of alleys and to and fro across bridges in search of our hotel, we were more realistic about our desperate need to have a few horizontal moments. Then after having to carry our bags up three flights of stairs to the attic we were ready to drop! Mike and I got two hours of sleep since yesterday...after packing and repacking endlessly we stole a few moments of sleep between 6 and 8am which goes to explain our sheer exhaustion! Obviously I can't sleep in the afternoon so as soon as Mike gets up we will head out and look for some Venetian Magic :)
