Work aboard begins

RAINY!!!
Monday morning. Had a quick breakfast on our terrace then packed the last few things which were left running around Tomislav's apartment. The weather was awful. It was humid and rainy though the boys were thrilled to show off their new macs and splash around in the muddy puddles.
We got a taxi to our new apartment in 63 St Frane though he confused us by looking for the address Sexy tree The next few days were a blur of shopping, scrubbing cleaning and carting things to and fro the apartment to the boat via the pretty piazza in the centre of Nerezine but it was only on Sunday evening that we actually strolled through the piazza and allowed ourselves the privilege of peering through a tourist's lens at the idyllic fishing village that we had been taking so for granted.
Above all the entire week was filled with rain, rain and more rain causing us to delay the work which needed to be done aboard Aigle D'Or. The roof of the aft cabin was peeled off to reveal a mushy soft core which was totally changed though with more delay due to the relentless rain storms! Our 20m mast was now restored and sprayed a brilliant white which should leave us with more time and TLC to lavish on the very needy deck, trimmings and interior as opposed to sustaining the more aesthetically beautiful but higher maintenance varnished alternative. With the interior taking shape nicely we managed to check out of our apartment on Thursday as scheduled and actually slept aboard in a flurry of excitement and yet more raindrops!
