GO Finishes in Miami

Wow, what an adventure! We arrived in Miami, FL on Wednesday, February 3 at 8:30pm after a 7 day, 6hour passage from Marigot on St Maarten. We had good winds for most of the trip up from the Caribbean and it definitely seemed a lot shorter than the 22 day, 23hour crossing from Las Palmas to St Maarten. [...]

St. Martin!!! We have arrived!!!

We have just arrived in St Martin- 24 days of sailing across the Atlantic- lots of little problems....lost a max prop in the middle of the Altantic, auto pilot was overheating, 5 cracks in the goose neck, bilge pump failure on the port side etc etc......but we made it....will be here for 24 hours then [...]

Weather is Good; Time to GO!

We just received confirmation that the weather pattern west and south of the Canaries is starting to change to more favorable winds and it should stay that way for at least the next week. So..we GO. We'll be off tomorrow across the Atlantic around sunset following some last minute provisioning and boat [...]

Arik and Rich are making their way back to California and I'm working on the boat and cleaning it up before returning to Seattle next week to get it ready for its closeup as one of the featured catamarans at the Miami Boat show next weekend.

It was a challenging trip to deliver a new boat across the Atlantic from France in the middle of winter. But after more than 6611 statue miles and multiple equipment failures along the way to challenge the crew, I think we can all agree that this trip qualifies as one grand adventure that we will not soon forget.

I want to thank all of you who were following our blog and apologize for our irregular postings. If anyone has a question about the trip that we can answer individually or collectively, please contact us at our individual email addresses below.

We just received confirmation that the weather pattern west and south of the Canaries is starting to change to more favorable winds and it should stay that way for at least the next week. So..we GO. We'll be off tomorrow across the Atlantic around sunset following some last minute provisioning and boat preparation. An average crossing should take us 20 days until landfall in the Leeward Islands of the Caribbean, however, if the trade winds don't cooperate it could take as long as 24-25 days...we'll hope for the 20 day version!
We have had no success updating this Blog via our sat phone but we will continue to try. In the meantime, check back around January 23rd as we'll post our arrival as soon as we are back online.
