Snorkeling

We went on a snorkeling adventure today. The clarity of the water is unsurpassed. The coral was vibrant and the fish were plentiful. We snorkled all along the Bokel Cay light and the Southeast pass. As we traveled from one location to another you could clearly see all of the coral and fish from the dinghy. It was like having a mask on looking into the water from the dinghy. The visibility must have been 60 ft. We were thinking of heading back - Bob was in the dinghy and Austin and I decided to snorkel a little longer when he got stung by something. I was swimming right next to him but didn't get stung. Neither of us saw anything but we assumed it was a jellyfish tentacle. We headed back to Alaya and got some jelly fish sting medicine. It really worked - the sting was gone within minutes and the rash was gone within 30 minutes. Bob and Austin returned to Turneffe Lodge to buy some cokes. The rest of the afternoon we spent swimming and relaxing. Throughout our time in Belize the mainland has been covered with thunderstorms and squalls. We have been on the outside of them until today. The clouds are building in the east and the occasional squall passes over us. So far they have been mostly rain with a little wind. No lightning as yet. We are heading further north tomorrow to Rendezvous Point where we will wait for a weather window to head to Isla Mujeres.
