We took Tom up on his offer and took the golf cart for an island tour. We covered the entire island stopping at points of interests. Austin rented a scooter to tour the island. The entire island is only 4.2 miles long and 1/2 mile wide. We visited the lighthouse at the tip of the island with its only remaining Mayan ruin. What time didn't destroy the hurricanes have. On the way to the lighthouse we passed a zip line to take you from the top of the island to the ocean. The windward side of the island is surrounded by reefs and the constant pounding of wind and waves is evident. The occasional reminder of the last hurricane still stands. Once we reached the north end of the island the scenery changed to a beautiful beach set up with the tourist industry in mind. The north beach is beautiful. We had a great day and returned to the marina in the early evening.
