Florida coast and Beaufort, SC
cloudy, windy, rainy

Dear Folks,
We've had another busy week; left Vero last Sunday and headed up the ICW(intracoastal waterway). We were lucky enough with our timing to see the rocket go off taking supplies to the Space Station. The pictures don't convey how wonderful it is to sit out on the water in the cockpit and see the rocket light up the night and go into orbit.
We then stopped at New Smyrna, where we spent Christmas of 2010 and have a shower and get an amazingly tasty pizza. The next day we headed out the Ponce Inlet into the Atlantic to cut off some of the twisty turns of the ICW.
We had a good sail and saw lots of dolphins and even had some flying fish land on deck overnight. As I am not much of an overnight sailor we cut our destination short and came in the Port Royal Sound and anchored up a nice quiet creek just east of Beaufort, SC. The next morning we came into the Downtown Marina.
Beaufort is an old community and has lots of shops in downtown and some fun restaurants. I took pictures to show you some of the sights. Mike and I had a fun walk last evening around the neighborhood which looks out at the ICW as it goes north on the Beaufort River. Big houses with live oak trees with Spanish moss adorning the branches, gardenias and magnolias in bloom and I even got to pick up and schmooze with a black and white kitty. Nippy's is a cool fish place with picnic tables in the parking lot and music under a small tent, great fried shrimp lunch.
Thinking of y'all this Memorial Day, don't forget to remember and thank veterans and those serving.
