A REALLY big fish
23 September 2015 | Tanna to Erromango
After three nights in the anchorage of Port Resolution in Tanna, on Wednesday morning we headed north for the next island in the chain - Erromango. The winds were a bit light for the first part of the 55 mile trip, but picked up nicely, to give us an almost perfect day sail to Dillon's Bay anchorage. And yes, as you can hopefully see in the picture (assuming it's posted okay), we caught another fish. A whopper!! A mahi mahi to replace the one that got away a couple of weeks ago. It must have taken at least half an hour for Matt to land the fish, boat hove to. Matt handled the undesirable task of cleaning and filleting the fish, with Sally providing hurriedly sourced "how to" information from our fishing bible ("The Cruiser's Handbook of Fishing"). Where on earth did those brand new fish filleting knives go?? And the measuring scales we'd recently bought? So - it's mahi mahi for dinner for a while to come (and potentially breakfast and lunch). But we're not complaining.
