Vanuatu's capital - Port Vila
28 September 2015 | Port Vila, Efate
We left Erromango early on Saturday, sailing about 75 miles north to the main island of Efate, arriving in the capital Port Vila. We picked up a conveniently located mooring a short dingy ride from the shore. Being rather low on food (not to mention wine and beer...), at the first opportunity we headed ashore for the Waterfront Bar and Grill. Fantastic local steak - and some Aussie red for Sally, NZ white for Matt. Heavenly! Pretty much everything in Port Vila was closed from midday Saturday until Monday. On Monday morning the small city came to life, bustling with activity. As with Noumea, the biggest risk to our health is probably getting run down by a car or mini bus. During our few days in Port Vila, we caught up with quite a few other cruisers. Lots of tales shared. Lots of useful information gleaned. Lots of fun had.
