Going back to Georgetown

Our friends Debra and John Hudson arrived Thursday evening, meeting us at Nick’s house where we had dinner and said good-by to Nick, Terri, and Lily. Nick drove us to the marina and we called it an early night. Friday was the beginning of Charleston Race Week so we had to be across the harbor by 9 am. As we headed for the Ben Sawyer Bridge and the 9 o’clock opening, we were able to see many sailboats headed out to the starting line. Our journey to Georgetown was filled with Dolphin sightings, sea shore landscapes with fields of sea grass, and a few palmetto trees silhouetted against the bright blue morning sky. We enjoyed a relaxing visit with our friends.
In Georgetown we met Jim and Jill, owners of another Hunter 45cc and invited them over for a glass of wine. Stories of what we liked and didn’t like about our boats were shared, mostly what we liked.
Our dinner plans for Portofino’s were cancelled when we found they weren’t open that evening. The Rivers was the perfect substitute and we ordered delicious seafood at John’s recommendation. The air was chilly as we walked along Front Street to Al Di La.
