Quick trip up the coast to Manasquan
30 June 2012 | Manasquan, NJ
Linda / Another sunny day
We left Atlantic City about 8:15am under sunny skies. The seas were fairly calm that day. We made really good time, so good that we had to slow down the last hour so the current into the inlet at Manasqun wouldn’t be too fast. We arrived at 5pm. The marina approach was busy with small pleasure boats hovering around waiting for the railroad bridge to open. We were doubtful that our mast would clear the narrow opening of the lift bridge, but Jim carefully maneuvered and we made it through unscathed. Dockhands were there to help tie up.
It was a busy little river and we watched the boats for a while. The trains and bridge horn made for a restless night.
