Sailing to Baltimore Harbor

27 May 2012 | Baltimore, MD
Linda / Sun, Wind! perfect!
A perfect day for sailing! After breakfast we headed out of the Harbor around noon. The wind was perfect. There was lots of unnecessary noise on the radio, keeping us entertained. The wind increased and we zoomed along all the way to te Frances Scott Key Bridge. Wind pushed us into the slip at the Inner Harbor East Marina. A little too hard... so we now have a scratch on the side of Al Di La. Something to repair when we have her lifted out and cleaned. We cleaned up and as we left the boat, the wind picked up and it started raining. Instead of heading to the warf where we planned to spend some time, we hurried to a nearby pub, James Joyce Pub, where dinner was fish and chips for me and Burgers and Mash for Jim. Yum!
The squal moved through and we were able to get back without getting soaked. It would have been nice to stay in Baltimore for a while, but we needed to get to Philadelphia.
