Congratulations and Graduations
Wow!! Where did all those grown-ups come from and Why the Hell are they calling me dad?
For the first time in at least 10 years our entire family was together for the week end. Joshua graduated from Teen Challenge Friday and all of the brothers and the sister were able to get together ad celebrate his achievement.
Jordan, Jake and Dave drove 30 plus hours to be in Pa by Thursday night. We picked Hannah up from her job in Newark, De at 10am after she worked hard all night. Got 2 hotel rooms in Reading in the afternoon and celebrated Josh’s graduation Friday night. Back to the boat on Saturday after picking up Josh’s car and having a really good BBQ meal on the way to Baltimore.
I am pretty sure I surprised the boys when I gave the Ruger mini-14 to Jake for completing his MBA, the Springfield XP-9 to Jordan in expectation of completing his undergrad and the SIG P229 to David in expectation of him finishing at USU. I was very disappointed that the oil had evaporated off the Weatherby and the wood had some mold on it. Sent that home with Jake to be cleaned at a fire arms dealer. I checked and cleaned the guns regularly but still had an issue in the salt environment. I was really surprised at how much ammo I had on board. I have been thinking about giving the boys the guns for a long time. Travelling with guns is difficult but more important to me was that none of my guns are really made for the marine environment.
We had a great evening on board with 7 adults. I would have to admit it was a little crowded but we made it work. And it was awesome joking and visiting with each of the kids.
Now it’s back to work and living life. The boys are back home, Hannah’s in Delaware for work, Josh is on board taking care of things to be ready for college to start in a week.
We will probably head to Annapolis Friday or Saturday as Josh hasn’t been there and we have not been out for an over night yet this year.
Have a great day everyone.
Happy Birthday Jordan!!!
