10/22/2009, Seven Sisters...Grenada Waterfalls
We've had the pleasure to explore a lot of Grenada from a tour guide! This one was ambitious and phenomenally gorgeous!
This was planned to be a girl hike...but the hikers changed up and we got a cutie, Poirot, Richard's Daughter's boyfriend to join the 'girls'!
It was invigorating, thrilling and beautiful! Enjoy the photo album whenever I get around to reliving thru my multinudenous collection to date!
10/17/2009, Just behind Altair...
It's not like we are getting really fed up with our wee whittle sloop! However, we are totally enjoying this we whittle apartment!
This is the last night of ''SPACE" with Dudley keeping the place another day for a football game! We will be back on Altair in the morning!
We actually have a more comfy bed on Altairthan any place we've escaped so far!
We're coming back Altair...

Here I am with one of the chief operating officers of the National Forestry Service, Grenada! Mr. Wilan Hamilton (he let me call him "Hami" like everyone else does) was right by my side throughout this whole project from early discussion thru delivering me and my painting to the National Stadium for World Food Day.
I only had 2.5 days (2.5 weeks would've been great), after all the details got in place to paint this 4x8' 'canvas detailing the animals Grenadians eat! They are, the mona monkey, the armadillo, opposum, red neck pidgeon and the iguana. The Forestry's mission is to cement the awareness of protecting each of the species during the off season so the mating may continue to preserve their food sources.
I couldn't have been more proud to be a participant in this international event. I met people from many organizations all attending for the same reason today! The theme this year for Marine Organizations, Departments of Agriculture, Education, and many others was "Achieving Food Security in times of Crises". Check out fao.org (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations).
Another small way to say thanks to a country that has welcomed us with open arms. We love you Grenada and all the wonderful, loving people who make this country what it is!

10/07/2009, The FUNKY and Colorful Neighbor
We think we are the party animals, but this crazy grub pub has great Thursday night parties according to Danny, the party coordinator extrordinair and marketing guru for our marina.
Our good friends Lynn and Lew on S/V Sea Wings just got back from the states! We will use any excuse to get together with them so we decided to check out the funky "Lagoons" right next door. A quiet lunch is perfect to catch up with our good friends.
It's very common to get the only dish served that day! Yep, chicken and the provisions! I have to admit that the "provisions" complimenting each and every island fare is usually unusual to us and is bread fruit, dasheen, ochra and callalou. Most 'sides' are their healthy way to supplement the protien...but ochra is not a vegggie we usually tolerate or like! Wow, it was actually el dente and they grew it right there on their lawn. Very cool and rather yummy too!
Even better was the chance to get caught up with friends at a new place for us. Very colorful! The dance contests that begin at 11p each thursday will probably continue without us!

10/06/2009, RSR (Children's Names) Apartments!
I apologize for my irrational outbreak and any evil thoughts, truly! Yet I am ready to throw the computer in the lagoon! We are up here way above the boat, renting from Jacqueline and Basil's RSR Apartments, with the wifi antenna tied to the balcony railing...we still CANNOT get a decent wifi connection!
I've had to struggle with our security program that crashed, downloading Internet Explorer 8 previously crashed it among other things, now it crashed again and I have to reinstall it....again! Really fun when you can't get connected for more than 5 minutes at a time and it takes a day! Glad I'm not a 'download' junkie, I'd really be outta my mind.
I'm learning the new camera software to downsize my images for the blog. That's more fun than I bargained for, but again, who do I ask?
The blog service has no idea why my posts are not making it onto my site! Then who do I ask? Is it the connection, me, the blog site?
We cannot get a good connection whether we pay for it or get it free...just stinks period on this island! The big chandlery Island Waterworld, offers great wifi, lagoon wide coverage, but they are NOW revamping their towers, yatta, yatta therefore no coverage there either. I'm so frustrated. It's been four months of learning PATIENCE and I'm ashamed to admit my failure in this exercise.
We'd love to talk to our family and friends on Skype, but everybody gets so upset with the bad connection we are afraid to call anybody anymore!

We talked about it, we met about it and it happened again! The National Forestry Service requested my talent for a banner at World Food Day.
The theme this year is "Achieving Food Security in a Time of Crises". The Manicou (opossum), the Tatou (armadillo), the Mona Monkey, the Iguana and the Red Necked Pidgeon are all food on this island and World Food Day is about teaching! No hunting when 'off' season! Let them breed and survive so there will be food.
I'm so proud to be a part of this event! They liked my painting of the National Bird, now this! Wow, what an honor!
