Recipe for a Perfect Birthday
01 February 2012 | Maho Bay, St. John's, USVI
Take one thoughtful husband who makes my morning tea so I can relax and read in the cockpit while enjoying the view of Maho Bay.
Add in a walk to the lookout on top of the hill to take pictures of the panorama of Maho and Francis Bays, with Thatch Island and the BVI (Jost Van Dyke and Tortola) in the distance.
Mix in a stroll along the beach to admire the birds and Pelicans.
Load Vorck with snorkel gear and take a dinghy ride to explore neighbouring Cinnamon Bay. Try to go to Trunk Bay to snorkel, but find it too rough to round the headland and go back to the protection of Maho Bay.
Follow with a wonderful snorkel along the eastern reef and admire a fabulous variety of fish life. Shoot a video while swimming above a lovely yellow fish as long as my arm.
Add a lukewarm shower (we have warm water because we motored a bit the day before) and relax in the cockpit again.
Finish with a dash of freedom from the galley and watch a perfect sunset while hubby makes dinner AND does the dishes.
