Saturday, February 13. This morning I dropped our guests, Ron & Cynde, off at the airstrip on the island next to Corizon de Jesus. (Corizon is too small for an airstrip so the actual runway is on an adjacent – unnamed and uninhabited – island accessible only by dinghy. Of course, the agent told them to arrive @ 7:10 for and 8:10 flight, which we knew was absurd. We did arrive ~7:30 and were still the only ones there until ~ 8:00. We began to wonder if we misunderstood when several more passengers arrived by boat. Wednesday and Thursday we snorkeled around the Western Coco Banderos enjoying the great reefs and beautiful sandy beaches. Thursday afternoon, it turned rainy so we decided to sail the 4+ miles to Nargana then. (Ron & Cynde had been planning on flying out of there Friday, but could not get reservations until Saturday.) As soon as we anchored at Nargana, we were approached by Frederico, self appointed ambassador to cruisers, garbage collector ($1.00/bag), and owner of a grand “supermarcado” with dinghy dock. “Mucho fresca legumbres.” I jokingly said to Deb as Cynde & I prepared to go in, “It is probably the size of our berth.” Almost. It was only a little smaller, and the “fresca legumbres were arriving “manana”. We did get a pineapple and some ice (plastic bags filled with water and frozen for $0.25). On Friday we walked about both isalnds (Nargana and Corizon de Jesus are joined by a foot bridge.) We were able to get some veggies, some lime (yeah!) and more ice. Later on today, Deb & I will go back in town as this is the first day of Carnival and we want to check it out. From there, who knows?

In the Spring of 2016, we sailed from Bocas del Toro, Panama, to Cuba and back with stops at the Albuquerque Cays, Providencia, and the Cayman Islands. We cruised the South coast of Cuba some and then left the boat for some inland excursions.
