I've been going back and forth with the guy at the Chandlery for 5 days now. Monday I asked him to get the Prop Speed for me and he said he could. Each day since then it has been some excuse or another and today he finally admitted, “No, I cannot get it for you.” And of course, now, it is too late to get anything else! Grrrrr. So we'll try the Magic Marker trick. Deb starts coloring props while I install the hubs. Of course the nut is a 15/16 and my larges socket is 7/8 and it has to be installed with a socket as you cannot get a wrench in to reach it. So I ask Victor and sure enough he has a big socket set – 3/4” drive and 15/16 was his smallest socket. So I borrow it (they are not supposed to loan tools) and the socket is soo heavy duty that its outside diameter is too big to fit in the hole. Back to Victor. He finds a 1/2” drive 15/16 socket and loans it to me. This works perfectly and I soon have both hubs installed and secured with set screws and Locktite. Deb has the props done so I carry them down and install the first set. THEY DON'T FIT! Open, all is well, but when they fold, they overlap the rudder by 2-3”. I cannot believe it. How could Varifold have sold me props that clearly will not work? I gave them all the info about the boat – make, model, etc. Double Grrrrr.. Back to Victor and borrow socket again to remove them and then install the old props, which of course I have done nothing to as I was just going to store them. Now I have to sand them down, back to Victor and get another couple ounces of barrier coat (the old props are aluminum) and paint them with that. Tomorrow I will apply anitfouling. I have emailed Varifold and we'll see what they have to say. Of course it cost me $70 to get them down here with my brother due to the weight and will probably cost the same to take them back. On top of that it poured much of the day making everything a bit more miserable to do in the rain. And there was no sun so our batteries are low and I cannot run either the generator or engine to charge them. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

In the Spring of 2016, we sailed from Bocas del Toro, Panama, to Cuba and back with stops at the Albuquerque Cays, Providencia, and the Cayman Islands. We cruised the South coast of Cuba some and then left the boat for some inland excursions.
