They say, "There are old sailors and there are bold sailors, but there aren't any old bold sailors." I intend to become an old sailor. The GRIB files showed fairly intense thunderstorms developing along our route by this evening. I don't mind rain, but I am leary of thunderstorms - especially at night. We were caught in one on our return trip to Bocas last year and it was an experience I'd prefer not to repeat. So... We're staying put for a couple days. It looks like tody is going to be a pretty nice day so maybe we can get out in the dink and enjot where we are. After all, it's not like staying here is so bad, many folks spend big money to get here. Friday looks like a wash all day, but by early Sat. we should have a good weather window for making it to Alberquerque. Yesterday I cleaned the bottom of the boat and Man! that was work. It took me several dives with the hookah, each about a half hour at the end of which I was pooped and had to rest at least as long as I had been down. As I cleaned, I was surrounded by a swarm (yes, it was a swarm, not a school, too disorganized for a school) of silver fish averaging 4-5" long. They liked the free lunch I was providing. One time when I went down, they weren't there. I wondered about that and then saw the reason - a 5' baracuda was hanging out between the hulls. Ignoring him, I started scraping again and soon I was again surrounded by silvery fish. I looked to se if the baracuda might consider this a dinner invitation for him, but he had gone. I finally got it all done - clean and shiny. As I grabbed the swim ladder to come up, the hookah died, out of gas. I guess you call that good timing. Anyway, the work is done so today we can play.

In the Spring of 2016, we sailed from Bocas del Toro, Panama, to Cuba and back with stops at the Albuquerque Cays, Providencia, and the Cayman Islands. We cruised the South coast of Cuba some and then left the boat for some inland excursions.
