Monday, 24 March. Well, Tuff Stuff certainly lives up to its name. You see, in the usual application, you apply Tuff Stuff; and while it is still tacky, apply bottom paint forming a strong bond. But Coppercoat (what we are using) is different and you must wait 3 days for the Tuff Stuff to cure and then sand it before applying Coppercoat. Well, sanding it turned out to be quite a job. I figure between Deb & I, we have a total of nearly 30 hours sanding the stuff. But it is done. And all the pinholes are patched. The bottom is finally ready for Coppercoat. Today, however, they are painting the non-skid in our cockpit and stern steps, so we are out of the boat until the paint dries. That means we should start applying Coppercoat tomorrow. I have to get them to put the tarps up again in case of rain. I'll still tape plastic over the Coppercoat, but the tarps will take most of the fury out of any rain. Today I also have to bird dog an order from Marine Warehouse. When we pulled the saildrives (which went very well and without incident!) we discovered that the aft engine mounts which are on the saildrive, were shot. That means they need replacement which means ordering them from the US and FedExing them down here ASAP. Hey, it's only money. You know, BOAT - Break Out Another Thousand!
