returning to port

Our first entry and our return to port. This trip began August 15 and we headed north. From Deltaville, VA to quiet anchorage. Then to Annapolis. Grabbed a mooring ball and toured the town. Up and out early. Arrived on the Sassafrass River. What a beautiful day and a beautiful river. It was our 25th wedding Anniversary. We spent the day on the water, tubing and swimming. The kids had a wonderful time. We took the whole family for a special dinner at The Granary. What a treat. We anchored for the night and then headed out early the next morning with the tide up and out the C&D Canal. We hoped to make Cape May by sunset. We arrived Cape May in time to fuel and water up, drop the hook and have a quiet evening. The captain and our oldest son arose early in the am to get out the inlet and head north. We made Sandy Hook by sunset. The next am we entered New York Harbor as the sun rose. It was stunning to see the Statue of Liberty lit up by the rising sun. We got as far as Kingston. Nice town to dock and walk around. We grabbed a pizza and then headed by the the Hudson to drop the anchor. From Kingston headed further north and through Troy and Albany. We arrived in Waterford by later afternoon. Waterford is a very welcoming town and a beautiful town.
