6/23/2014 Triple Green Flash. That's how we started our evening: you see the last bit of sun turn emerald green, go down into the trough of a wave then up again and get a repeat performance. That, coupled with easy seas, a good breeze, good food and friends makes for mighty nice traveling. And that's what this is, pure traveling; we are always moving, and everything around us is moving. You might think the day would be monotonous but far from it, each hour, each day is different. This morning as I write this we are surrounded by scatterings of puffy white cumulous clouds signifying fair weather. That hasn't been typical and we're careful not to let our guard down because several times before we've been hammered unexpectedly with foul weather. It's also time to be vigilant about watching for traffic because we saw our first light last night. We don't know what kind of vessel it was. The radar said it was no closer than about eight miles, but for us having all this ocean to ourselves for so long, that was a close encounter. We had another close encounter of sorts with a disembodied being. Don't get excited, we're not losing our marbles out here, it was our mate Andrew sleepwalking. He came out from down below in the pitch black a little early for his shift and started questioning our boat heading, wanting us to change compass course to 170. Now we had been steering 140 to 150 for many days and we wondered where his authority came from. Well, after a few questions it was apparent to us that this man was nowhere near conscious, especially after confessing that he didn't know why he was up or even what we were doing here! Toomey had a little fun saying, "BOY, you are in la la land". To which Andrew replied, "well, you've been there a LONG time". And with that he went back to bed. Funny thing was we checked the chart and it was time to change our heading to 170, and we did. We'll be steering that all the way to our destination! Thanks "Mister prophet", or whom ever you were at the time. Less than 500 miles to go, (lot's of good fishing time). Paul

What's happenin' pop! What's goin' on man?

Last evening the crew enjoyed a night of loud music and refreshments... The 4 am watch: The wind was kindly lifting the ' Ananda' so she'd plane a soft sea. Off to port fireballs fell and disappeared. From the helm I saw Paulo passed out in a bean bag lookin' like a ration of rum. While capt'n Adam and Andy lay snoozin', cruisin' in the cabin below. I was laughing with the angel Virgo over my starboard shoulder. On a passage, on way to Papeete -jt
