Leaving Falmouth

Diana/ crisp fall (68 & windy)
We have spent the last two days getting Surprise equipped and I am proud to report she is ready to head out early in the morning. It should be a good run to Block Island where we'll spend the first night. Winds predicted to be from the northeast at 10 to 15 kt. That would be ideal as the wind would be at our back. It is so much fun to listen to the VHF weather reports. Of course we have internet this close to the coast and have a radio that gets Sirrus satellite marine weather. We haven't hooked that up yet so I'm not sure what it affords. The neatest thing -but we don't it - is an audio/video satellite broadcast by Sirrius that overlays on the chartplotter and is live feed. Weather is such a big issue for sailors, it seems like you earn your spurs based on the tales you can tell of facing a sea in the throws of various weather conditions. Keith promises we won't go looking for any tales to tell.
