I am constantly amazed by the generosity of the people we keep meeting and have met in the fantastic country, we have been welcomed into their lives, their homes and they are prepared to share what they have with us and they never ask for anything in return. We had a couple of urgent matters to settle with customs and import and our yacht broker gave us the use of one of his cars, a beautiful Mercedes and he said that we could keep it in the marina for our own use for the time of our stay here and we are still humbled by the welcome from Marijana and her family.
Wading through the red tape dealing with the customs and import here is a slightly different story although most of the people that I have had contact with have been very helpful, I will elaborate on the different processes we have had to deal with in a future blog so if you are thinking about doing something similar to what we have done, I can give you some hints on how, what and where you will have to be to bring some of the equipment into this country that is not available here.
The weather has definitely improved with the temperature now consistently in the high 20’s and the water temp is into the low 20s; we are almost tempted to go for a swim.
The attached photo is just one of the many sights we come across from time to time, you have to see the celebrations they have for a wedding over here to believe it, a convoy of cars waiving flags, tooting their horns and displaying a placard with “Game over” on the grooms car are just some of the thing they get up to.
