Annecam admin pip & Tom
¤127 nautical miles sailed over the last 24 hours with another 113 rum line miles now behind us, we still have 405 to go ¤The nasty looking weather system that I wrote about in the last blog was every bit as nasty as it looked, the light head winds quickly increased to over 30 knots with our wind instruments showing a top of 36 several times, this was a very strong cold front that I have been watching for a few days. This front not only brought cooler air and blinding rain, it also did the usual change of the wind direction. Of course as the wind strength increased the seas built up as well to a very uncomfortable 3 to 4 metres, it was borderline weather we kept sailing or if we took the safe option of hoving to, we hove to and stayed below watching a movie until the wind eased. We now have a nice steady 12 to 15 knots from the southeast, Annecam is back in her happy place, cruising along at just over 8 knots almost straight down the rum line and the good news is there will be no more tacking for a while.
