Ep. 21.
We had to leave Rarotonga earlier that we planned to as the Avatiu Harbour was untenable with the north winds that pushed the swell straight in causing several boats to hit each other or the sea wall.
This was a tough passage as the trade winds dropped out and a cold front moved over us, we recorded 36 knots of wind as the front moved through, we made several tacks over the first two days. This passage took us 4 days and 19 hours to complete, we made it to Niue without any issues. It was a slow start with a nice fast finish. The fishing was fantastic
Niue is a beautiful clean Island with very friendly locals who always great you with a beaming smile and always pitch in to help anyone. On the video you will see a pod of Humpback Whales swim within a few feet of Annecam, we were moored at the time and it was amazing to see the cow push her young calf over to see us, the bull was a real show off. The fishing was fantastic and the dinghy lift crane at the dock was an interesting experience but it’s all part of the adventure we are having on Annecam.
Living life we always find the laughter is the best medicine.
