First day back on Annecam
If you have been following us on our journey, you will remember that I spent 5 days in hospital in Noumea, New Caledonia with a severely infected leg and as soon as they released me we set sail for Australia. My legs seemed fine during the 5 days it took us to complete the last passage but apparently my body was reacting to the antibiotic that they gave me in New Caledonia. The symptoms did not show all the time that I was on passage or the time that I was in Hospital in New Caledonia, my legs were fine during the clearing in process after our arrival. It was the next day that my right leg started to swell and a rash appeared all over my body, we decided it was time to let a local Doctor have a look, so it was a ride in a taxi to the Bundaberg Hospital and before I could even say “we are back” they admitted me, did all sorts of tests, blood tests, biopsy tests along with a few other tests and after 5 days they reluctantly let me go back to Annecam with a very different antibiotic. They are trusting me to notify them if there are any changes due to the medication or the infection and I assure you I will.
So I trust that this explains the reason why we have been back for several days without informing you of our arrival and the last few blog entries have been catching up to where we are.
