Our statistics for 2016

Cam "H"
For 2016 we sailed to several countries and Island groups starting in the Caribbean and finishing the year in Sydney Australia, they are Bequia, St Lucia, Martinique, Dominica, Iles de Saintes, Guadeloupe, Antigua, Barbuda, St Barts, St Marten, the BVI’s, the USVI’s, the Spanish Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Columbia, San Blas, Panama, Las Perlas Islands, Galapagos Islands, Marquesas Islands, the Tuamotu Atols, Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, the Cook Islands, Niue, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Australia.
We managed to sail over 12,267 nautical miles (22,326 Kilometers) with an average of 6.84 for the year.
Time spent sailing 164 days and of those 67 were full 24 hour days.
We spent 221 nights on anchor and 85 nights in marinas or on moorings.
Fuel purchased 1,494 litres and about 250 of that we still have on board.
We caught 2,660 litres of rain water and topped our tanks up with another 2,604 of potable fresh water we still have about 300 litres in our tanks.
Pardon the pun but the fishing was a mixed bag with only a few fish caught in the Caribbean, the catch rate improved considerably once we transited the Panama Canal into the Pacific Ocean with a total of 163. We had plenty of nice fresh fish on our table; we love Mahi Mahi the best.
The best 24 hour sail just happened to be in the nastiest conditions we have ever sailed in and that was in the middle of the Caribbean Sea where we managed to put our spreaders in the water on five occasions, we had less than 10% of our sails out and we still managed an average of over 10 knots for 241 nautical miles in the 24 hours. Our fastest speed was recorded on this passage at 16.8 knots, we did not break anything, Annecam stood up extremely well and believe it or not both Annie and I did not get one single scratch, I’m surprised that Annie has kept sailing.
The highlight for us for 2016 was making landfall in our homeland Australia and there are many more great moments that are definitely life time memories.
The photo was us with our Australian registration papers four and a half years ago, the time that our journey began.
Life was good in 2016 on board Annecam and the adventure continues in 2017.
