After our catch up with some of the Go Weest Down Under Rally crew we left Middle Harbour and motor sailed to Iron Cove as this is the best place we have found here in Sydney Harbour to get provisions. Not that long after we arrived in Iron Cove the wind piped up from the North East so we decided that we could wait another day for the wind to drop, so we motored around to Balls Head Bay and anchored for the night.
Nice and early this morning we motored back to Iron Cove and took a ride in our dinghy to do our shopping, we are not only right for food for the next few days we also have stocked up on a few items to help celebrate Australia Day that just happens to be on the 26th.
Here in Sydney Harbour like most of the State Capitols here in Australia there will be a full on day of festivities and it is a public holiday, so we expect the anchorages to be very busy. We have a tall ship regatta here on the harbour as part of the celebrations and we can’t wait to see these majestic ships strut their stuff.
The photo shows the setting sun just over the Iron Cove Bridge, trying to peek through all of the cloud cover we have here as we are under the influence of a rather strong Southerly change that has bought a bit of rain and a lot of squally wind with it.
