Scrub time
29 January 2017 | Rose Bay, Sydney Harbour, NSW
Cam "H"
It has been four months since we were hauled out in Vuda Marina in Fiji and we have not cleaned Annecam under the water line since then. So the time is well overdue to give her a much needed scrub as there is a lot of unwanted growth well and truly stuck on her. I did have a little go just over a week ago and today I have completed about 50% of the scrubbing, the hard 50% remains. I might have to don our Scuba, to spend a bit more time underneath to remove the stubborn growth.
There is never a dull moment anchored here in Rose Bay, there is always a regatta to watch and the future sailor’s in the dinghies are always a source of entertainment as these kids are good at what they do. Then there are the sea planes that are coming and going almost all day long. The weekend skippers are the ones that seem to attract the most attention as there are quite a few of them leave a lot to be desired when it comes to anchoring or even picking up a mooring. Just as well most of them leave the bay and head back to their respective marinas as the sun starts to set, we usually have a nice quiet night without anyone else close by.
The photo is all of the equipment required to scrub the growth of Annecam under the water line.
To anyone contemplating a voyage, I would say just go.
