We find it interesting to say the least reading about how other full time live a board cruisers got to be where they are, most are the ones who have worked hard all of their lives and have retired from the mainstream work force, they have invested wisely and are living off their earnings, some even still have a home to go to when they are finished cruising. Then there are the ones at the other end of the scale, the ones who have stopped working, and they have very little income but they are still out there cruising and enjoying all that this world has to offer, they anchor in the same places as the rich on their super yachts. Most of the fore mentioned do not have a home to go back too as they sold what they had to purchase their yacht and they seem to survive by finding work wherever they are. We have found a few that are funding their lifestyle by having paying guests cruise with them from time to time. There are a few earning quite a solid income via crowd funding by producing YouTube videos and being sponsored for doing so.
We on Annecam do not have a home to go back too, we don’t have an income to speak of, we are living off our savings. We are living off our life savings and we can honestly say that our only home rocks. ‘Annecam’ is our home and our address is where our anchor is at the time. Would we swap what we are doing to be back in the jobs we had before we started cruising over 5 years ago, “no” would be the most appropriate answer, we have had the odd day where we wished that we could be somewhere else, somewhere safe away from the huge breaking waves that are trying to swallow us but they have been few and far between.
Where will we be in twelve months. Who knows for sure, we might get back into the hustle and bustle of working again or we might still be just floating about on our home that rocks.
We had a surprise visit from Jeff and Jenny Pay from our old home town Horsham today, it was great to catch up with them. The only issue we had was it was raining most of the time that they were on board with us.
