Wow! It’s been ten days since our last blog post and a lot has happened in that time. We did stay anchored in front of the Abell Point Marina to wait for the weather to improve and we did go to the Saturday market in Airlie Beach, as we mentioned in our last blog. We shared sun downers with Chris and Chris on Scintilla one of the Go West rally yachts that we first met in the Port of Bundaberg last November, we also caught up with and shared some more sun downers with Fiona and Trevor plus Tania and Alan on their beautiful catamarans Exhale and Somewhere. Almost all of the above-mentioned names plus Sherman a friend of Chris and Chris all ended up on Annecam one evening, it is always good to catch up and hear the different stories of how they all got to be where they are.
We tried to up-load our latest youtube video but the library in Airlie was having some issues with their communications so we are still looking for a location to get the job done, we will have a look for some wifi here in Bowen tomorrow.
We sailed away from Airlie Beach a week ago and spent a pleasant night anchored in Woodwark Bay, the next day we anchored in one of the bays in Double Bay. After two nights there we set our course for Nellie Bay, we only spent the one night there as there was some swell wrapping around the headland making us roll all night long, we nick-named the bay Rolly Nellie Bay. The following day we sailed to Shaggers Island and now we are in the Bowen Boat Harbour, so you could say that we are just a little bit further up the coast and still heading north.
Our plan is to spend a few days here before we start heading north again, we have heard that there is a good laundry and supermarket here in Bowen, we have a heap of laundry to be done.
The photo is Cam having a conversation with Chris on Scintilla in the anchorage in Cid Harbour.
