Annie and Cam "H"
On this day 2012 we were in the Marina Dalmatia in Sukosan. There was a Bura Wind keeping us in the marina it was almost windy enough to blow a dog off the chain, we spent the day on the phone with family back in Australia, it was great to catch up on the 'goss' from home. Our friend Luka paid us a visit from Zadar, he bought us some beautiful wine, olive oil and schnapps that his Dad and Mum make, it was delicious. We were very grateful, and if even half of the young people of Croatia are as polite and lovely as Luka then the future of this country is in very good hands.
The only two things we have found wrong with Croatia;
1. It's too far away from Australia.
2. They drive on the wrong side of the road.
Apart from that.........it's perfect!
On this day 2013 we had another crew member on Annecam, we picked up Shauna Heard in Zadar yesterday morning with a car our very kind yacht broker Michael and his lovely wife Gertraud from BlueNautic Yachts had loaned to us.
On this day 2014 we made the 75-nautical mile passage from Palma, Mallorca to Ibiza, it was a great sail. After an early start, we had lunch in a small bay on the Island of Ibiza, we managed to snag our anchor chain in rocks and I had to dive to free it. We then sheltered from the westerly wind down behind the Island of Formentera for the night.
On this day 2015 we sailed from the Port Louis Marina at St Georges Grenada and we sailed around to Mt Hartman Bay on the south end of the Island, we would spend the Caribbean Hurricane season anchored here.
On this day 2016 This is the day we completed our passage from Niue to Vava’u Tonga. We had a great sail over the last 120nm, it took us just over 12 hours to cover that distance. We had to slow Annecam down so we did not arrive in the dark as we were met by several pods of Humpback Whale, negotiating our way through them was quite a task.
On this day 2017 we are anchored and just relaxing on Annecam in Horseshoe Bay on the north end of Magnetic Island. We are in no to hurry to go anywhere, it’s good, just to sit and watch the world go by.
