Annie and Cam "H"
After a lovely nine days at Townsville and Magnetic Island, catching up with our Whitsunday guests Terri and Ian who just happened to be camped just out of town in their caravan. We also caught up with Chris and Chris off their yacht Scintilla, we plan to sail back to Bundaberg with them before the start of the cyclone season later this year.
Right now, we are backtracking from Magnetic Island to Bowen so we can join the Shag Islet Cruising Yacht Club Rendezvous, held over the last weekend of this month. This will be a first for us on Annecam. The theme this year is to turn up wearing what you had on when the ship went down, it sounds like fun and we are sure it will be, The Shag Islet Cruising Yacht Club is a proud supporter of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, a very worthy cause.
We are doing short day passages as we backtrack, much the same as we did heading north. Yesterday we sailed in very light conditions from Horseshoe Bay on Magnetic Island to Cape Bowling Green, today we sailed to Cape Upstart and our plan is to sail to Bowen tomorrow.
Annie looks a picture of concentration as she takes the helm as we leave Magnetic Island.
