We are packing and un-packing and packing again, the luggage we have is mostly boat bits. Our clothing is taking a distant second as we prioritize what we really need.
The airline we are flying with gives us an allowance of 30kg each for our checked in luggage and 7kg each for our carry on and we thought that with a total of 74kg we would have all the room we required. Just as well the Italians sell very nice clothes.
Disposing of another car and packing up a house full of furniture is well on the way. We have our bus tickets ready for departure to Melbourne for a catch up with our newest grandson and Annie’s family before we fly out of Melbourne airport in 10 days.
I just spoke to a couple of Kiwi sailors who are in the same marina and they said that it is raining red mud. The deserts of north Africa are just on the other side of the Mediterranean sea and almost every time that the wind blows from the direction it brings the red dust with it, mixed with the rain systems it falls as mud. It looks like we will have a bit of boat cleaning to do before we sail away.
Life is great not having to work.
