Cam "H"
This was meant to be just a nice short passage from Fornells to this nice little bay on the north west side of the Island, in total it was only 12 nautical miles from point to point but the Mediterranean winds were up to their usual old tricks, we had a head wind all the way and with 15 tacks we sailed a total distance of 22 miles and an average speed of just over 5 knots. At least we gave the fishing lures a good run, all for nothing.
This is a very popular bay, as we arrived I counted 38 boats swinging on their anchors, the water is a beautiful turquoise, absolutely crystal clear and a nice warm 26.5c. The backdrop to this bay is two nice sandy beaches covered with holiday makers from all over the world, the local authorities have marked off the swimming area with buoys and ‘Greg’ our Mantus anchor is well dug into the nice sandy bottom in 6 metres of water.
There is still quite an amount of the left over swell from the last mistral wind, we are hoping that it settles at night so it is not quite so rollie.
Life is bliss on Annecam.
