The rain, wind and thunder storms have arrived here in southern Spain, the beautiful warm sunshine has disappeared. For an area that only has an average of 12 inches or 300 milometers annual rain fall each year it seems that we have had most of that average in just the one day. The streets were flooded and the lightning crashed all around but we are safely tied up stern to a nice solid pontoon here in the marina. ‘Touch wood’ none of the lightning has come close to us yet, as most of you would know a yacht is not the greatest place to be in when there is lightning around, we have a tall metal mast, a very good conductor and quite often we are the tallest object out on the water when we are out sailing, that is why we love to be in a marina with much larger yachts around giving us a sense of security.
