Back in Tortola
05 March 2015 | Road Town Tortola
Cam "H"
We have sailed back over to Road Town after spending two lovely nights at anchor over on Peter Island. Our timing could have been a little better as just after we left we were hit by quite a strong squall that had us easing the sheets and reducing sail as Annecam healed over and took of trying to round up and she was a bit of a handful until we balanced the sails.
Just before we left Peter Island Sarah and I had a great snorkel over the coral right alongside Annecam.
Annie made no secret of the fact that she does not do a lot of heal but we are now tucked in swinging on our anchor out in front of the Village Cay Marina she is a lot happier now.
Our rough plan is to pick up our outboard motor that is being serviced by a local mechanic after we gave it a quick dunk when the lifting strap parted company; just as well we always run a safety line that saved having to dive to do a retrieval. Tomorrow we plan to start a circumnavigation of Tortola including anchoring on some of the surrounding Islands for several night as we go. So watch this space and we will keep you up to speed on where we are.
The photo is of another yacht we had as company while we were on passage from St Kitts and Nevis to St Maarten. It is always good to sail in the company of others even if we do not even know who they are.
Life is sweet on Annecam
