We have just spent a couple of very nice days in and around Spanish Town here on Virgin Gorda with the highlight being a visit to the famous baths. The baths are a beach area about 1 nautical mile south of Spanish Town made up of huge granite boulders left after a volcanic eruption. They form caves and grottos that we spent several hours exploring, some have dry sandy floors and others have swim throughs and then opening up onto a beautiful little beach in Devils Bay.
The only down side was getting back into the dinghy in the deep water, we are not the most graceful creatures while performing this task and getting back onto the stern of Annecam can be a little difficult in the rough water, we all have a few boat bumps to brag about.
Today we plan to sail over to Beef Island to one of the anchorages near the airport just to see if it is a suitable place to pick up my son Tom and his partner Pip when they arrive in a few weeks’ time.
