I’m sure that there are some of you wondering what we do with ourselves every day while we are not on a passage, we here goes with what an average day living life as a cruiser is like for us. We start each day with a nice hot cup of coffee followed by a breakfast of bacon and eggs, an omelette or just toast. We then launch our dinghy we call Macenna (Annecam spelt backwards) ready to take us ashore for provisions, social activities or just plain old shopping. We check our water catchers consisting of two plastic jerry cans set up to catch the rain that lands on Annecam, we have caught over 500 litres in the last week.
We shower in one of the two heads with showers on Annecam. Then we check our emails and social media, once that is done we get into one of the many boat jobs that are always popping up, there is always an ever increasing load of laundry to be done, we check the oil and water levels in our main motor as we still need to top up our batteries each day.
We also have our monthly safety checks, Epirbs x 2 test, Lazer Flare test, Flares check, Radio check and test, Portable radios check and test, emergency grab bag check, Portable GPS check x 3, Bilge pump check and test, manual bilge pump check, Harnesses, tethers and jack lines check, AIS check, chart plotters check, navagation lights check, Rig check, winches and lines check, through hulls check. We check all of this equipment before every passage as well.
Video #36 Just chilling on Annecam will give you some idea of how we keep our dinghy secure each night plus a look at what we do each day.
