Day 16
20 May 2016 | South Pacific Ocean
Annecam admin Pip & Tom
What a cracking sail ¤200. 63 nautical miles in the last 24 hours, 2,764 completed so far and 555nm to go. ¤We started off the last 24 hours a bit on the slow side but as the trade winds strengthened we found ourselves flying along at anywhere between 7 and 11 knots, we had an average of 8.34 knots , just right in Annecams sweet spot. ¤If the winds stay with us and touch wood, we don't break anything, we should make landfall in 3 to 4 days. Most likely either late on Sunday evening or early Monday morning local time. ¤For the mathematicians that have been following us you should have noticed a growing discrepancy between the miles completed and the miles to go, put simply we almost always sail a different route to the rum line, the wind direction always dictates what heading we can take. A good example is our current rum line states that we have only 555nm and the course we have to sail is 690nm with 3 gybes. ¤The end of this passage is in sight and the excitement builds we approach landfall in paradise, life is good on Annecam.
