We rode bikes to The Fresh Market for a few things, and were loading up outside for the return trip to the marina when a woman circled the parking lot, pulled into a space right in front of us, got out and said: “I know this will sound weird, but are y’all on a boat? Do you need a ride somewhere?” WOW! Like that happens every day with perfect strangers. She & her husband cruised for 8 years, were originally from New England, and she settled in St. Pete after he passed away unexpectedly. We had the best conversation about cruising life! She was so enthusiastic & encouraging about what we’re doing; even has a brother cruising now, currently in Puerto Rico. So sorry we failed to get her name.

I know I’ve said this before, but cruisers are the best community, even those former cruisers n/k/a CLODS: cruisers living on dirt….
