Fairly calm this morning, so we strike out in the dinghy for Loggerhead Key. No permanent residents here, just researchers, an off limits dock, lighthouse, & historical markers. We walked completely around the island & were treated to some amazing scenery. See pics
Back to the boat for snorkel gear & GoPro; Cap’n Honey has been itching to try out that toy! Wade in from the beach & snorkel around the old docks. There are lots of sergeant majors, a few parrotfish, wrasses, the usual. Space is a little too tight for me, but Ted manages to get some video. Most interesting were the 3 Goliath groupers hanging out underneath the boat – each between 5-6’ long!
Libra comes in this afternoon – a Trip 57 w/5 or so guys aboard; she’s one of the boats that did the Pensacola/Havana race w/Learning to Fly! We were all excited about sending Bob/Yvonne a text about it until we remembered there’s no service… HA – addicted to technology sometimes! The catamaran Neverland is back for the night, along with a smaller catamaran & an even smaller monohull w/a dog aboard. The Marquesas tomorrow, about 35 miles.
