Having purchased just enough crap yesterday to fill and pack two suitcases to 23.3 Kg (51 pounds - slight miscalculation) we farted about all day as our flight from OAK to LAX was scheduled for 1802. A nearly 3 hour delay due traffic in LA whence it came made subsequent connection more interesting than normally desired.
Tuesday
After just making SYD connection as well in standby seats, arrived 1330 back to a particularly steamy boat (cockpit 49 C, 120 F) as AC was left off and awning removed by friends for cyclone Blanche, the latest to be first of season to hit Australia. Lucky us. Have yet to complain about heat, although same cannot be said of entire complement. Checked luggage was last seen at domestic connection counter in Sydney. Confidence runs high that two bags will reappear within a day or so. Nevertheless, ecstatic to be back home. Bonus: no boat damage, fridge and freezer still operating and batteries remain topped.

PS Ref. previous addendum, if due warning you are a bit tentative and have eschewed exposure, might dip your toe into the disturbed Tim Minchin waters with "When I grow Up" from "Matilda" or the sentimental "Drinking White Wine in the Sun". Apologies to those who, not comprehending the peril due insufficient elucidation, experienced psychogenic difficulties from jumping in head first.
