Thanks to everyone who has left a note on Sailblogs or contacted us directly with kind thoughts, especially Lesley who has sent 37 messages, give or take. She, even more than Jan, is OCD as well as big-hearted. In addition she is beyond certifiable and we love her.
Expect to hear a bit about Jan's treatment over the next few to several months, but these doodlings aren't Facebook or a medical chronicle, so will continue to primarily comprise the same ridicules crap as always. There will be no channeling of Dr. Phil or Oprah (or your local equivalent) so no gnashing of teeth nor pulling of hair. We will evince an attitude more along the lines of Conan the Barbarian whose best of life was to "Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women." Sweet guy. Positive thinker. Aaarghhhh!
A quick squizzie at the pilot charts from here to Townsville, over 1300 NM, shows constant, year-round, direct force four headwinds. Perhaps learning to love Darwin is in order with, however, the occasional escape and evade as circumstances allow. As we move into dry (less wet) season, marginally better weather is purported to transpire. We wait in rapt anticipation.
Yesterday went to see Kong: Skull Island. Good show; great effects. Tickets, soda and popcorn: $69. Currently trying to take the "day of rest" seriously. Virtually no work has gotten done on boat. This goofing off thing doesn't suck too badly.
